Giving Thanks

Published by admin at 1:16 am under Uncategorized

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone. This year I can’t help but be thankful for all the things that a loving family brings to one’s life. If it weren’t for family, all the unexpected bumps in the road would have truly tossed me into the ditch. I’m thankful that I’m not there.

And at the same time, as a dirty hippie, I have hope that this concept of family can one day be extended to a much greater sphere. A sphere that includes everyone. For it seems to me that all of us living creatures pretty much are one family.

And this thought actually brings me to think of the families living in Tehran for example. There was an excellent photo gallery that someone put together not too long ago that exposed what the current day to day life is like in Tehran. Would you be surprised if you came to conclude that it wasn’t all that different from any large city in America? Or in France, Britain, Spain, Italy, or Germany for that matter? Yes, the people living in Tehran are family too. And family includes that crazy uncle, and that ADD cousin, and that clepto niece, and that grandfather with alzheimers. But none of that stops you from loving them unconditionally. All of which leaves me with something to share with you in the future.

I hope your thanksgiving was truly special and wonderful. Just like every day of your life should be.
